Being inspired by turntablists, Jumi started DJing in 1996.

In 1999, Jumi played at Roppongi Nuts as a house DJ. Since then, Jumi played at various
major clubs in Tokyo, such as, Halem, Asia, Vuenos, Simoon, Rockwest, Izm, Bed in
Ikebukuro, Pinknoise in Sinjuku, Logos & Lizard in Yokohama, Flow in Fussa, Ageha in
Shinjuku, Ground Record in Chiba, Black Church in Takasaki, Bronx in Maebashi, Sam &
Dave in Osaka, Eden in Taiwan, etc.

In 2002, Jumi joined the national tour of a dance group, "Krud", which has dancers and
singers (5 total). Krud played at TV program as well.
Jumi also supported the "Buddha Brand", which has been a leading Japanese Rap group, as
a live DJ in their national tour.

From 2002 to 2003, Jumi organized a female DJ unit, "ill RIZ" with DJ K-Switch and DJ
Chika. This unit became popular in Japanese turntablist scene, as an unique combination
with three famale DJs with different style. "ill RIZ" performed at various clubs and venues,
combining scratch, beat juggling and other mix technique, resulted to have a large fans and
supporters in the club scene. In 2003, Jumi left "ill RIZ" to accomplish more activities as
solo.

Currently, Jumi is performing at a radio program, "Joint One" (19:00 to 21:00, Inter FM). as
a mix DJ on every Thursday.

In 2003, Jumi performed at radio program, "Soul Train" (J-wave).
Also in 2003, Jumi released her first Mix Tape, "Jumix".

In July 2004, Jumi met the world leading turntablist, DJ Q-bert. Jumi impressed him by
showing her skill in scratching and club play, then became his first and only pupil. Jumi
visited Kyoto with Q-bert and opened his show at Club Metro on July 21st.

In September 2004, Jumi visited Hawaii to have a video shooting for the new "Turtable TV"
by Thudrumble, which is expected to release in early 2005. During this visit, Jumi has been
trained by Q-bert to improve her skill in scratching. Jumi also performed for the first time
in the USA, at Indigo in Honolulu, opening the show for DJ Shortkut.

Currently, Jumi is playing at various clubs in Tokyo area, as a guest DJ. Jumi also works at
a record shop, Home Bass, located in Shibuya, Tokyo.
